Razmig joins Twitch!

I’d be lying if I told you I figured out Twitch a while ago, and just haven’t made the time to stream…but the truth is I couldn’t figure it out. Onboarding to Twitch doesn’t seem complicated at all, creating a profile is easy, navigating the site is also relatively easy…but in this day and age when you can go live on Twitter, Instagram, and most social platforms with the tap of a button, that just didn’t seem to be the case with Twitch.

I did some poor googling and learned about OBS and some other requirements. I considered purchasing a capture card after doing some reading, but I couldn’t justify the price for something I just wanted to test. So I pretty much threw in the towel.

Once COVID-19 hit though, I started using my PlayStation a lot more for online gaming with friends that I could no longer see in person. I also picked up a copy of COD before all the stores closed up…and began playing anywhere from 1-3 hours a few times a week.

Fast forward to a happy accident…I rarely, if ever click the “share” button on my PS4, but bumped it and realized I could connect Twitch. Why didn’t I do this before? I never considered the console to be social-friendly, as the OS is pretty dated…I also didn’t have a mic or spare webcam until I was gifted the PS4 camera recently, and now? I’m officially a Twitch streamer.

I’ve got 5 followers so far, mostly friends, but I plan to go live 3-4 times a week and see what happens. I’ll be playing COD and some other games, in addition to making beats on my OP-1 live!
